I am canceling my Facebook account so I will be updating my blog more often. So here pretty soon, I will be telling you about our trip to Lake Isabella for the trout derby and also adding pictures. So, I will keep you all posted.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-1160299369205307592010-05-21T21:56:00.001-07:002010-05-21T22:02:15.283-07:00Another semester is finished. I didn't get into the Rad Tech program this year so I have t0 wait until next February to apply. But, to fill the time I have decided to also try and get a degree in American Sign Language. I am excited to get that started in the fall. Ethen get out of school next week and again we have a busy summer ahead of us. The first of June Ethen and I are headed to Jr. Camp. In Jesus Name this is the year he will get the Holy Ghost. I am doing the snack bar, so I will get to go and have fun too. I have just placed an offer on a house so toward the end of June hopefully I will be moving. Then in July we are headed to Texas to go to the ranch. We will be back within the first couple weeks of August and then it's back to school. Sometimes I think the school year is more relaxing than summer break. I will get on sometime, hopefully soon, and add some pictures. If my offer is accepted on the house I will be posting some pictures of that.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-4873396093004761282010-01-10T19:24:00.000-08:002010-01-10T19:27:35.630-08:00I know it has been a long time since I have updated this blog, but I have been crazy busy. I finished my "freshman" year of college. I am now technically a "sophmore". Emilee turned 3 last month. She is getting so big. The kids and I just got back from Seaworld San Diego. We had so much fun. I will try to do better keeping things updated in the future. So here are some pictures of Seaworld.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-68541884878541717752009-08-27T23:02:00.000-07:002009-08-27T23:19:04.057-07:00

Wow, another year of school. Ethen is now in the second grade. I can not believe how fast he is growing. I have heard other parent commenting on this phenomena of children growing up in the blink of an eye..... they really do. Ethen was sooooo cute his first day of school. He looks adorable in his uniform. I have been blessed to be able to send him to Bethel again this year. Emilee will be three in December and goes to Kiddie Korral, so she sees "Bubba" everyday. I have been told she has climbed under the fence a few times to so see Bubba.

I am now in my second semester at college. I again am taking 12 units. It is difficult with the kids, but we are working it out. I am taking intermediate algebra, (thank goodness it is my last math class) computer, (which is a gen. ed class) and biology. In the spring I will be able to apply to the radiology program. If anyone reading this has a minute or two, pray for me that I can get in right away. They say there is a 1-3 year waiting list. I really don't want to wait that long. LOL.

Also, Granny is doing well. She just finished her second round of chemo. She has an infection in her mouth, sort of like thrush, and she has days where she is really tired. We are all thanking the Lord that she hasn't been sick to her stomach. God is so good!!! I appreciate everyone who is praying for her. If anyone "deserves" healing, it is her. She is such a good, godly woman who has always been there for ANYONE who needed her. She has been the emotional and spiritual pillar in our family. I don't think she will ever be able to grasp the true depth of my profound love and respect for her.

Until next time. Thank you all for stopping by and reading about me and mine.
Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-77377250108730463002009-07-15T22:40:00.000-07:002009-07-15T22:49:29.677-07:00Things have been so very crazy lateley. Granny had her gallblader removed and during that process it was discovered she has lymphoma and will be starting chemo at the end of the month. Doctors are positive that they will be able to take care of it... but I know that God is in controll and am claiming healing in Jesus name.

The kids and I are going to Sacramento at the end of the month. We are looking forward to visiting with Robyn and Doyle. Ethen is excited to go fishing with him. I plan on doing some shopping for Ethen's school close and Emilee some play clothes for school.... which I know Robyn will absolutely LOVE. Anyone who knows Robyn knows she absolutely adores shopping. LOL.

As summer comes to a close. I am getting ready for school again also. I have just two more semesters before I can apply to the rad tech program. I am antsy to get into the program. The first semester I will have clinicals. That will make my education real. Being able to have some hands on training will make it feel like I getting closer to my goal.

Untill next time. Love you all. Thanks for visiting my blog.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-13966904697521155852009-05-26T22:23:00.001-07:002009-05-26T22:23:30.211-07:00

Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-74748892286068568322009-05-26T20:43:00.000-07:002009-05-26T21:13:36.327-07:00Caribbean CruiseEthen and I just g0t back from our cruise. We had a blast. Ethen pretty much wore me out on the first day. We discovered every nook and cranny on the ship that day. The ship we were on, the Carnival Liberty, had a miniature golf course, a basketball and volleyball court, and a waterslide. He was sooo excited. We had three days in port and three days at sea. Each day at sea, he went to the kids club and played with the kids. Each day the kids club closed from 12-2, so I took him out to the pool and he wend up and down the waterslide for two hours. He loved it. I took some really cute video of that. Every day we were in port, I had planned shore excursions. The first stop we made was Ocho Rios, Jamaica. There, we took a Timeran from the docks to Dunns River Falls. It is a 920 foot water fall. There, we joined about 15 other people and climbed up the middle of the waterfall. It was so cool, we were actually in the waterfall climbing up it. Afterwards, we took the Timeran back to the docks, then I took him down to the beach. He played in the surf for a couple of hours. Next, we stopped in Grand Cayman, in the Cayman Islands. There, we went a dolphinariam and turtle farm. At the turtle farm we saw lots of giant sea turtles and baby sea turtles. Ethen was able to hold several of the baby sea turtles. Then, we went right across the street and were able to get into the water with a dolphin. We were able to touch it several times as it swam by. Then, one at a time, the dolphin swam up to us and we held it and gave it a kiss, then shook its fins. Ethen absolutely LOVED that. At first he was a little scared, but he got over it very quickly. Last place we stopped was Roatan, an island off of the coast of Honduras. There, we went to a bird and monkey sanctuary. We held a giant Macaw, it sat on our shoulder. Then, we went into the monkey area. Ethen had one of the monkey sit right on top of his head. Several times the monkeys would climb up his arm and sit on his shoulders. Another of the monkeys placed a handful of sunflower seeds on top of his head and then just sat there and ate them.... right off the top of his head.
We were so ready to get back home, though. I missed Emilee sooooooooooo much. It was hard to be away from her for so long. Ethen and I needed some time though. He has been having a difficult time. Well, I am including some pictures. I hope you enjoy.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-1611326343009966482009-05-11T22:21:00.000-07:002009-05-11T22:45:37.251-07:00It's Over!!!Finally, my first semester at school is over!!!! I just finished my last final today. I have gotten all my final grades back. I got an "A" in all three!!!!! I am so happy. I didn't think that I would do as good as I did. I was always like that in school. I would stress over every test worrying that I wouldn't pass, but, in the end I would. I am now one step closer to my goal. I have to admit it feels good. I apologize if it sounds like I am bragging...... BUT I AM!!! I worked so hard this semester, juggling the kids and school. I tried so hard not to neglect the kids and tried to do most of my homework after they went to bed and when they were in school. Next semester is going to be harder. I am registering for 17 units. I need to finish the last of my general ed. and prerequisite classes so I can apply to the rad. tech. program in February. If I get in, I will start the program in June. So pray, cause right now they say the wait is anywhere from 1 to 3 years. I am praying to get right in. Names for the program are picked by a lottery, so it is possible to get in the first time I apply.
Ethen and I leave on Friday for a cruise. We are going on a 7 night Western Carribean. He is so very excited. He and I have been having a difficult time and we kinda need to get away. I think Ethen will absolutely love the cruise. We are going to Ocho Rios, Jamaica; Roatan, Guatemala; and Grand Cayman; Cayman Islands. I am excited to go somewhere just the two of us. Emilee will be staying with Granny and Stacey. She is still a little young to go on a cruise.

Untill next time. See ya later.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-20901835532708966252009-05-07T20:08:00.000-07:002009-05-07T20:13:46.450-07:00End of the SemesterWell, I've almost made it through my first semester back at college. It has been difficult juggling the kids, my studies and every day life, but I think I did ok. I took three classes totaling 12 units this semester. I already have my algebra grade, which is an "A" and I have finished my English class and am just waiting for my teacher to e-mail me my grade. The only one I have left is my Medical Terminology and I will take the final for that class on Monday. I have been studying really hard for that. There is alot of memorization involved. But, the kids and I are ready for summer. I gotta go now, I will log on again soon and post some new pictures.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-87604407069828313222009-04-08T17:08:00.000-07:002009-04-08T17:15:33.027-07:00It's Been A Long TimeHello everybody, I know it has been a while but things have been crazy at school. I got through the midterm's and now am on the home stretch. So far I am getting an A in English and Medical Terminology and a B in Algebra, But by the end of the semester plan on having all A's. With lots of prayer, coffee. and Monster's!!!! It has been difficult juggling the kids and school but I think I am balancing it all as well as I can. The kids are doing great. Emilee absolutely loves daycare. When I pull into the parking lot now she starts saying bye before I even get her out of the car. She loves playing with all the kids. Ethen is in the Easter play and I will be posting some pics of that in the next couple of days. He is so excited. He and I are also giving a cardboard testimony. If you don't know what that is, look it up on youtube. It is a powerful way to give a testimony. I am excited to be involved with it. I have a couple of friends coming to the play, and I can't wait to see God move. Untill next time, God Bless.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-50692855385242959602009-03-09T09:07:00.000-07:002009-03-09T09:15:42.638-07:00School UpdateHi, I know it's been awhile. I have been so busy with homework. I am ejoying it though. I always liked school, so, it hasn't been to bad. It is just alot of work. I am doing pretty well though, i think. I am working on a 10 page research paper for my English class. It is more difficult than I thought it would be. But, it is coming together. I have my mid-term in Medical Terminology on Wednesday, so I have been studying like crazy.

The kids are doing ok. Emilee is enjoying daycare. She walks in the door and starts saying "Bye Mommy," over and over untill I leave. Kinda funny. Ethen of course does the, "I hate school," everymorning. Normal stuff for a 1st grader.

This last weekend was one year since Shane passed away. It was pretty tough getting through these last couple of days. On Saturday, I went golfing with Darrin, James, Travis, Jeremy, and William Westberry and his son. It was nice, kind of a memorial golf game. Next year the guys are wanting to do something a little bigger. Jame's mentioned calling it the "Champlain Invitational." I think that would be nice. Well, gotta head to class. C-yaShandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-25780082805118634292009-01-29T21:53:00.000-08:002009-01-29T21:57:49.519-08:00School Cont.I have finished my second week of school. It has been intense for me. I have so much homework. I am trying not to do any when my kids are awake. I have been staying up pretty late to finish. It is getting easier as I grow accustomed to the "routine" of it all. I am enjoying myself though. Emilee is doing good in daycare. She fusses for about 2 minutes after I drop her off then she is fine. Although, she crawled under the fence to get to bubba. Today when I left, she wasn't crying for me.... She was crying, and I quote "I WANT MY BUBBA!!!" It was sweet. I will have my first test on Monday. I am very nervous. I just turned in my first essay and I want it back so I can know how I did. The waiting is driving me crazy. Well, untill next time.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-38277616152608812452009-01-17T00:39:00.000-08:002009-01-17T00:46:58.761-08:00SchoolI started Emilee in daycare on Monday. I wasnt' too worried about how she would handle it, I was worried about me. I don't like not being around her. But she is loving daycare. I think the only time she cries is right before naptime because she gets tired. Stephanie and Tonya say she goes right to sleep. The day before yesterday they told me she crawled under the fence to get to "Bubba". He plays on the ajoining playground. When I pick her up I ask if she is ready to go she says "no". But when I ask if she is ready to go get "Bubba", she heads for the door. She absolutely adores her Bubba. And he is crazy about her.
I start school on Tuesday. I can't wait. I want to get this show on the road. I worry about everything all the time. I will be glad when I graduate and have a good job. Then I won't have to worry so much about how I am going to support my family. That is my goal right now. I don't know what God has in store for me, but I want to be prepared for whatever that is. Well, untill next time.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-2656597117614362542009-01-17T00:36:00.000-08:002009-01-17T00:39:52.871-08:00Misc.It is my 29th birthday today. It has been hard. Shane always bought me something and would be so excited about it that he would bug me everyday for at least a week to open my present early. I always tortured him and waited until my birthday to open it. This is my first birthday without him in ten years. But, I had lunch with my best friend today and tomorrow I am going to have lunch with my granny, Veronica, Tracy, Poppy and Tiffany. It helps alot to have my friends around me. I couldn't make it through without them.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-10725528230994412562008-12-22T16:03:00.000-08:002008-12-22T16:17:27.147-08:00Christmas 2008Hello everyone, I know it's been a long time but I have been so busy. The kids and I went to Shane's parents for Thanksgiving. It was really hard, but we had fun. These first holidays without Shane have been hard. It just doesn't seem real. I half expect to wake up and have it all be just a bad dream. I have been keeping myself going, it seems like non stop though. Granny and I always do baskets this time of year and we did 47 this year. We have been baking every day since about Thanksgiving. We had fun though. We always do. I love spending this time with her. I will always cherish the many, many days we spend in the kitchen this time of year. The kids are getting excited for Christmas. I am suprised Emilee hasn't tried to open the presents. Her Birthday was the 16th and we had a little party for her. She loved opening the presents. She got quite a bit of things even with just the few people that came. I am not really looking forward to Christmas Day. Christmas was "Shane's holiday". He LOVED opening presents. I am going to miss that. He would get us up around 4 in the morning, the kids would cry and say they wanted to sleep but he would make us all get up and watching his face while he opened presents, was so neat. He was like a little kid.
Well, I also have enrolled for my first semester of college. I am so excited and extremely nervous at the same time. It has been 10 years since I have been in school. I really want to succeed though. I want to have a good job with good benefits so that I can give my children a good life. I don't want to struggle their whole life. So, pray for me while I try to do homework and study for tests again.
Until next time...........Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-20803399824576160642008-11-25T22:11:00.000-08:002008-11-25T22:18:52.114-08:00Back to SchoolI am going back to school. I can hardly wait. I have already registered. I am taking a medical terminology, math and english class this semester. I am so nervous though. I have been out of school for ten years. I am praying I can do well. I have three semesters of pre-reqs and general ed. and then I can apply to the radiology tech. program. I hope to get in the first year I apply but if not that is ok. I want to take a spanish and/or ASL course anyway. The spring semester starts in January, just three days after my birthday. It is hard to wait, I am ready and want to get started. After I graduate, I will be able to get a good job in a hospital. I will have excellent medical benifits for the kids and myself and also get a retirement fund started. We can live off of my paychecks and I want to be able to put the kids social security checks in savings account for them. That way, they have some money put aside for when they go to college. Well, I guess I'll go now. Talk at ya soon.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-70087811482313104222008-11-25T22:06:00.000-08:002008-11-25T22:19:40.833-08:00Thanksgiving in SacHey, I know it's been a while. Ethen's doing well in school. Emilee will be two next month. I can't believe it. I am in Sac right now for Thanksgiving, visiting with Shane's family. Doyle took Ethen turkey hunting today, but they came back with nothing but two very tired "men". Ethen loves coming to Sac and spending time with his Grampy. Emilee is keeping everyone entertained. She talks up a storm and is very bossy. Her facial expressions are what is the funniest. And when she smile, her eyes light up. Ethen just thinks he is hot stuff. He is so cute, he tries to act all grown up. He strutted around all afternoon when him and Grampy got back from hunting. I will put some pics up next week if I can find time. I have been making and will be making more pumkin logs for the holidays, and Granny and I will start making our baskets as soon as I get back home.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-62982976175315228812008-09-23T11:20:00.001-07:002008-09-23T11:20:14.947-07:00Pismo Beach

Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-7931819136299852362008-09-23T10:30:00.000-07:002008-09-23T10:46:07.178-07:00Pismo Beach
I took the kids to Pismo this weekend. We rented a house in Los Osos. We got there Friday night and just unpacked and hung out. On Saturday we drove into Pismo. Had lunch at Splash and then went down to the beach. I bought Ethen a skim board and he spent all day trying to learn how to use it. He was kind of getting the hang of it when we left. Emilee didn't really care for the water but she loved the sand. I had bought her a bucket and shovel and she didn't move. They both loved it and didn't want to leave. After the kids bath, I think half of the sand at Pismo ended up in the tub. On Sunday we drove to Morrow Bay and went to this little aquarium. The kids fed the seals and got to see all kinds of cool looking fish. After that we went to this little road side fruit stand in Avila. The kids fed some animals, then they had ice cream and I had a grilled corn on the cob. We took a tractor ride back into the apple orchard and the kids picked an apple. We had lunch at Bubba's Bad B-B-Q in Paso Robles and got home about 7:30. Last time we went was when Emilee was 2 months old. I can't wait to see the kids play in the water. Kids always have this enthusiasm that I wish I could get ahold of. I know they will love it. When I get back I will attach some pictures. Until then.....Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-12111060345432043662008-09-07T20:11:00.000-07:002008-09-07T21:58:56.633-07:00Pismo Beach
This Saturday, I went with a group from the church to Pismo Beach. I had a blast. We played volleyball on the beach. We all laughed so hard and fell so many times I lost count. At least it was sand so it didn't hurt too bad. It was almost impossible. I could not seem to move very fast. I felt like my legs were going very fast but a turtle could have beat me. We played five or six games then went to lunch. I went to the Cracked Crab. I ordered this bucket that came with all kinds of stuff and they dumped it right onto the table. It was delicious. Then we all went to the outlets and then home. I woke up this morning and was so sore. I really need to get into shape. I even saw dolphins. After all the years of going over there, this was the first time I have ever saw them. They were just off shore, jumping out of the water, it was awesome. Next weekend I am taking the kids to Pismo. I can't wait.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-62592562340514696812008-08-25T00:28:00.000-07:002008-08-25T00:34:41.847-07:00Ethen started first grade last week. I can hardly believe it!!! It was very hard for me watching the other parents. I just kept thinking, "Shane should be here too". I'm not sure if I am sad or glad about this, but when we got there, he acted like I wasn't there. He just started talking to his friends and took off to play. When I told him goodbye, he didn't even glance my way as he hollered "bye mom". I wish he would have acted just a little bit that he didn't want me to leave. I miss him during the day, but it is much quieter. Emilee doesn't scream near as much as when he is home. She tries to boss him around and if he doesn't listen she screams at him. I am trying my best to break her of that. Today, she kept screaming so I gave her a swat. She cried so hard she threw up. I'll try to get some pictures of his first day up soon. Until next time.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214090221324834423.post-26878946498462214232008-08-14T14:16:00.000-07:002008-08-14T14:17:45.760-07:00"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass..... We went coon hunting, fed and petted the cows, (Emilee especially loved that), went for rides on the quads and in the trucks, fed the deer, (sometimes 30 and 40 right in the front yard!!!!), we fixed fences, and just relaxed. Emilee absolutely loved the cows. She has just started to talk and she said "cow" all the time, day and night. Just about drove us all insane. It was either "cow" or "walkie". She wanted to take a walk and see the cows. She fed them cow cake and petted them. She screamed and laughed when they would lick her. She was filthy dirty and dead tired every night. I know she really enjoyed the Ranch. We never could get her to say "Hampy" but she always called for "Shiree". Now Ethen, he was Uncle Hampy's little helper...... that is if he wasn't on the quad. He would get on that thing with his little helmet and drive around in circles around the ranch house for hours. We actually ended up running out of gas once when Ethen and I went for a ride. He had to ride back to the house on the back of my quad to get the gas can. He went with us when we went coon hunting and was so excited when I shot the coon. He wanted us to make a hat for him.... I think I'll just buy him one. He helped out with feed the deer and the cattle. He would throw hay from the back of the truck with Uncle Hampy. Ethen and Grandad went for a ride on the quads one of the first days we were there and Grandad ended up spraining his ankle trying to start his quad. Granny and Uncle Hampy took him to the ER and on the way home a deer ran into the side of my van. As soon as they get back we will have to take it into the shop. Around the ranch are some ranches with exotic animals on them. We saw a zebra, a buffalo, sika, goats and these red deer with the biggest antlers I have ever seen in person. There were also other animals I don't know the name of. On the way to church we also some some elk. I took alot of pictures so I will post them next week.Shandahnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08547339936467119253noreply@blogger.com0
